How do I tell Chip

Tracey finished getting ready and then we couldn't stop talking about how cool this was. We thought about what would be the best way to tell Chip. We dug through some of Mikayla's clothes and found a onesie that said I love Daddy on it. It was perfect.

I packed all my bags and strategically placed the little outfit in the bag with the positive test on top. After 4 years of infertility we were both very familiar with what a negative test looked like so I knew that he would be able to tell.

I got home on Friday night and we went straight to help some friends of ours finish up packing. Actually we just got there in time to go to Dairy Queen. It was so fun to hang out with them, but I was dying to get home so Chip could unpack my bag.

The night was a little bitter sweet because they were moving clear to Tennessee and I wanted to spend time with them, but I was about to burst with excitement.

We got home and Chip brought my bags in. I didn't want to sound too eager, but I wanted him to open my bag. I acted like I was busy doing something else when I asked him to get my pillow out of my bag. This was a request that was common so he didn't think much of it. He opened my bag and took out the top item. (I was actually just pacing behind him) When he got to the test he picked it up and said, "are you serious?" the smile on my face said it all. By this time it is about 10:30 pm. After a long hug, he asked me how in the world we were supposed to go to sleep now. I think we talked for about an hour before we even began to get sleepy.

What a wonderful way to finish off a great week of giving to a friend! I felt like God gave me the gift I had longed for.
