Zoe stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Kinzler's house for a few days and this was the day that she first met Sydney. She didn't really even care, but now she is very attentive to what is going on and why we talk funny to this "thing" that has invaded her space. :)

My First Adjustment!
We went in and he adjusted me first which what so awesome. Labor asks some weird things of your body and it was just nice to get back in line. :)
He then had me take Sydney out of her car seat and hold her in my lap. She was sound asleep. He very carefully used his index fingers to locate each vertebrae of her neck. As he felt each one, he said that she was actually in pretty good shape. The atlas, the vertebrae that the skull sits on, was a little misaligned. It was so cool because he just cautiously turned her head to look towards the door and the vertebrae moved. There wasn't any abrupt movements or anything. Sydney didn't even flinch. She just kept on sleeping. He then felt all the bones in her skull to make sure that they came through the birthing process okay. It was just pretty awesome to know that Sydney has such quality of care. She be up playing before we know it and it will be nice when she decides to fall out of trees and such that she will have such and amazing doctor to take care of her. :0) Thanks Dr. Gallagher!

"Labor" Day
Saturday Noveber 15, 2008
Saturday was just a relaxing day at he Kinzler household of watching football, going to a NNU basketball game and watching some more football. Beth decided to put a little kink in the relaxing part by starting to have contractions about 8:30 in the evening. The first contractions were about 30 seconds long and about 10 minutes apart. This sequence of events lasted about an hour and then we called our doula. She said to just wait it out until the contractions were about 6-7 minutes apart and call her back. Well, as labor goes the contractions were constitantly getting closer togethr but they were not getting harded or longer, still lasting about 30 seconds or so. At around one o'clock, as we saw it labor was progressing steadily and contractions were between 2-4 minutes so we called the doula back and she asked several leading questions to find out how Beth was doing. Amazingly Beth was talking and joking between contractions so the doula still didn't think we were very close. Although Beth's mom had three hour labors so we all decided to go to the birthing center to finish labor, so we went about 2:00am. When we got to the birthing center the doula was there and ready for us and she got to witness Beth's contractions. We were a little more relaxed at the birthing center so the contractions backed off to about 5 minute and still about 30 seconds long.
So things progressed good until about 6 am and then Beth really started having some serious labor, from my perspective it was really cool to see her really turn the corner and Sydney decided she was ready to arive in our world. Beth was still talking a laughing between contractions so the doula still didn't think she was that close but at about 7:30 she called the Midwife and said she should probababy make her way down to the birthing center, but no need to hurry. At about 7:45 Beth turned another corner and the pain intensified to another level.
Here comes the goods, the midwife got there and checked Beth and she was 9 centimeters at 8:05am, the water was ready in the bathtub so beth jumped in for the water birth and labor continued rapidly and at 8:20 am on Sunday November 16 Sydney Marie Kinzler was born into our world. Needless to say from me, this was an amazing experience and now I have the most beautiful daughter in the world, I'm really not biased either:)

8 days til due date!
We had a baby appointment yesterday and everything is looking good. They said she could come any time between now and 2 weeks. Nothing like stating the obvious. :)
Other than that there really isn't too much news to chat about. We are getting everything ready for her arrival. Every day that she doesn't come, the car keeps getting more full with "one more thing" we may need. I guess it is a good thing we have an SUV to hold it all.
I have 2 cousins that are having babies really close to mine. One is in France and the other in Japan with the military. The France cousin was due about a week ago and still hasn't had her baby Girl so I am trying to make sure that I am patient with Sydney. The cousin in Japan isn't due for about 4 more weeks I think and she is having a Boy. It will be fun to get them all back together at some point because they will be so close in age. :) (Love ya Karen and Kassie)
