Life is good. I'm pregnant and I'm feeling great. No nausea to speak of.
We are going to have our church directory pictures taken. Chip is at work and I am trying to figure out what we are going to wear. We figure that we are going to have plenty of family pictures with the new baby coming into the picture so we aren't real concerned about it, but I want the pictures to look decent for the directory. My motivation level is really low. I took a nap, it is Saturday after all, but still didn't have any grand ideas. I figured out what I could wear, but then I didn't have anything for Chip or visa versa.
Chip got home around noon so I decided I would sit down and eat lunch with him. I was just kind of feeling blah so I decided on some Chicken Noodle soup. When I got done eating, I decided I still wasn't feeling great so I better go lay down. Chip was more than willing to help out with the dishes so I went and layed down. My mind was still trying to figure out what to wear. I was getting very frustrated.
I still wasn't feeling well. I couldn't figure out what was going on. It wasn't morning so I should be fine. Morning sickness usually occurs when you don't have food in your stomach. I just ate so I should be fine. My mind said just lay here and you will be fine. Well, my body said something different. Before I could even hardly get up, my food decided to come up. I had no idea that you could create that kind of velocity from within. I scrambled to the bathroom to finish what hadn't already done it's thing. Chip so lovingly started laughing his butt off. I guess I was laughing pretty hard as well. I had convinced myself that I could just decide not to throw up and I would be okay. Well, I found out the hard way that that was not accurate.
The funniest part of all of this is that Chip was helping me clean up and he couldn't get the grin off of his face. He was so excited that we had confirmation that I was pregnant that he didn't even mind cleaning up the mess.
At this point I didn't have a choice but to take another shower, but time was really running short and we still hadn't figured out what to wear. So Chip, still laughing, cleaned up the mess while I jumped in the shower. In the meantime we both were trying to decided what to wear. By the time I got out of the shower, I didn't really care what we looked like, I just needed to not throw up again.
Needless to say we made it on time. I haven't seen the pictures yet, but I'm sure I was a little extra pale. The fun part is that we will have pictures in our Boise State gear and we will always have a really funny memory tied to it. It was so fun to see Chip excited to see that there was definitely signs of pregnancy. A lot of laughter goes a long way. It has been fun to be able to laugh at myself.
